  I couldn't speak highly enough about the care my entire family has received from Dr Garretson and his staff for many years now. I have a complex medical history including cancer and neurological disease, and I feel very confident that Dr. Garretson always takes the extra care to ensure he is doing all he can to protect my vision and look for warning signs of other illness. Several years ago, I was having some trouble with my vision regarding years and years of contact use, and Dr. Garretson noticed I was in the beginning stages of Limbal Stem Cell disease. I was crushed to hear that I could no longer wear contacts, but he held my hand through the laser surgery which I chose to have. He made the whole situation as pleasant as was possible. I had a very successful outcome with the surgery, and because of the partnership between him and the surgeon, I was able to do nearly all my follow-up care with Dr Garretson, just miles from my home, and in the small, friendly office space he provides. About five years ago, my sons (then 12) and my husband all made the leap into the Ortho-K world. We are SO grateful for this service, which Dr. Garretson is a leader in. All three of the boys are athletic, and being able to ditch their glasses for skiing, swimming, cycling, running...it was an amazing gift. Doing those activities with contacts is troublesome. They simply pop in their contacts when they go to bed, sleep soundly with them, and take them out first thing in the morning, and they have great (20/15) vision all day. Perhaps the most exciting and important part of this, though, is that instead of my sons' vision worsening through their adolescent years, their prescription has stayed exactly the same. This maintenance of a proper shape of the eyeball has beneficial consequences toward their long-term eye health. Dr Garretson is like an old-fashioned family doctor to me. He takes the time to get to know everyone in my family, treats us with great respect and patience, and cares for our overall health. He is cutting-edge with the technology in his office and his continuing education. I strongly recommend his care.
